Twenty-seven, alone on a cargo run, three days out from the burn that takes her home. She is the most competent person in the set and it does her no good at all, because the thing in the tank does not care about competence.

“There is no column for this. I am opening one.”
Who she is on page one
A professional alone on a ship, doing a maintenance task she was trained for. The tank on this vessel is not a monster; it is equipment, and the symbiont inside it recycles the ship's nutrients. She opens the sampling port herself, on schedule, and logs it. That is the first page.
Everything that follows is her own log, so the reader never gets an outside view. No crew, no mission control voice, no rescue. A woman, a form, and a tank.
Temperament and speech
Her defence is documentation. When something happens that she cannot classify, she writes it down in the correct column and keeps going, which works for about forty pages.
Her speech is a report: begin, confirm, log, end. The cadence holds even when the content stops being reportable, and that mismatch is where the set's humour and its dread both live. She narrates her own undoing in the tone of a shift handover.
What we draw her for
Short hair shaved to the scalp at the sides, no cosmetics, a body kept for work rather than for looking at — E-cup, wide shoulders, the tan lines of a woman who has spent her life in artificial light. Zero gravity means the set gets to use weightlessness: hair floating, body turning slowly, nothing pressed against anything.
Full color, AI-generated, and part of the same multi work series as the convent and the room. Mosaic censorship is designed into the frames rather than applied on top, which is why the tank's reflection does so much work — it shows what the mosaic will not.
What she is not
She is not a damsel and she is not a scientist who deserves it. She is competent, sober, and completely out of options, and the set never gives her a stupid decision to justify what happens. The only mistake she makes is the one the job required.
She is a fictional adult. Every frame in the set is drawn and AI-generated.
